Australian Government Research Training Programme (AGRTP) is offering 10 fully funded international students Masters and PhD scholarships at Flinders University 2019. The scholarships cover the following costs; full tuition fees, health coverage, a living stipend and relocation costs.

In partnership with Flinders University, Australia is offering 10 fully funded Masters and PhD Scholarships for international eligible students, the academic year 2019.

The scholarships are awarded to support international students who are interested in undertaking a higher research degree at Flinders University in Australia.

The duration of this award is up to 2 years for a research Masters degree and 3 years for a PhD degree.

Awards are highly competitive and require candidates to demonstrate an outstanding aptitude for independent research at a masters or PhD level. Therefore, the selection for the AGRTP scholarships will be based on academic merit.


Applicants MUST meet the eligibility criteria indicated below;

  • Be an International student. Please note, Australian citizens, Australian permanent resident or New Zealand citizens are not eligible for this specific scholarship
  • Satisfy the Flinders University’s academic entry requirements for the intended program of study
  • Have a First Class honours degree or a master’s degree for the PhD program
  • English language proficiency levels required by Flinders University for international students
  • Do not already have a higher research degree


  • Tuition fees for the chosen degree
  • Tax exempted living annual stipend (approximately $27,596 for 2019)
  • Health care coverage
  • Settling in allowance of up to $1,485 (for relocation costs and airfares expenses.


Complete and submit your application for admission to a Master of Arts by research or a PhD degree at Flinders University

After filling in your admission application, you will then need to complete and submit an application for the AGRTPS scholarship.


A complete application should be accompanied with the following documents;

  • Email proof of supervisor’s agreement. Therefore, you should contact a potential research supervisor beforehand and request for the possibility of supervision.
  • Any publications you could have written
  • Official certified academic transcripts awarded by your previous university
  • A research proposal for the topic you want to pursue (500 words)
  • 2 academic references
  • Updated curriculum vitae/resume showing your experience


All documents must be submitted in English and uploaded in the application online portal


You must hand in your application by 9th August 2019 (5 pm Australia, Adelaide local time)
